Lost in the process

For reasons of confidentiality some personal details of the stories have been changed or combined.

When we met Steve he was a classic example of someone who had a particular passion and had gone into business to pursue it, but who had got lost in the process.

Steve believes passionately that businesses should never have to re-key data. He also knows that many small businesses have what he calls "islands of automation" and that as a result turning an enquiry into an order, then into a worksheet, parts order, dispatch note and finally into an invoice means repeatedly transferring details from one system to another. Steve was brilliant at solving problems like this but found the "business of business" much more difficult. He could not see a way of attracting a regular supply of clients, charging them enough to make the business work and still find the time to develop the business.

The McKenna Smith Wessex Business Esteem Programme gave Steve these capabilities. He now has a clear direction for the company and is smoothly moving towards achieving it. What seemed like insurmountable problems have been replaced by constantly improving systems which deliver predictable and repeatable results.

If your organisation is hamstrung by the delays, costs and errors of re-keying information or if you would simply like to talk to one of our clients we would be happy to arrange an introduction to Steve.
